Now entering his 31st. year, Rabbit is the rock on which The Shadowplay Stud was founded. The moment I held him on a dark wet September morning I knew I had something special. He stood 18'' at birth and looked like a ..... well, that was how he got the name Rabbit. He has won more Championships than I can remember or count and has been my constant companion.When I lose him, part of my world will end. In spite of having reached an age when he really should be settling down by the fireside in a comfy armchair, Rabbit has evaded all attempts at being retired and will be put to two more mares in 2011 - every foal is special now. He has always been a better sire of fillies than colts (or maybe I am just way too fussy?) so, at present he leaves no direct son to carry on, just some very beautiful, naughty daughters. He has been bred back to his granddaughters with great success and with a little Silver Bay colt Gizzmo waiting in the wings, that breeding will be tried in reverse as Gizzmo is Rabbit's great grandson.
